About Save Your Heart
One of the few memories I have of my maternal grandfather is the emergency workers carrying his body down a flight of stairs and out the front door to the sound of my family weeping. He died of a heart attack at the age of 62. My grandmother lasted a few more years, but she also died of heart disease. My mother had a heart attack at the age of 55. And both of my uncles have had bypass operations; one a triple, the other a quadruple. So, as I approached the age of 50 I started worrying about my own heart health. I was having dinner with my uncle when the subject came up and I commented that I hoped I hadn’t inherited the family’s propensity for heart disease. My uncle said, “Perhaps you will take better care of your heart that we did.”
That got me to thinking. What could I possibly do to prevent myself from going down this same road? I dove into the peer-reviewed medical and scientific literature reported by the National Institutes of Health, US Dept. of Health and Human Services, and the National Medical Library; as well as the peer-reviewed alternative medical and scientific literature that, for some reason, is not archived by the National Medical Library. But the most succinct summary of this research was made by Dr. Linus Pauling himself when he said, “The beauty of our research is that, once the cause of atherosclerosis is clearly understood as a chronic nutritional deficiency, the prevention and cure of atherosclerosis becomes obvious.”*) I discovered that there are 19 critical nutrients the human cardiovascular system needs, to get and stay in optimum health, that are hard to get enough of in the typical western diet.
So, in 2008 I consulted with 3 PhDs in nutrition and partnered with Douglas Labs to produce the world’s most comprehensive cardiovascular support nutritional supplement on the market: The Pauling Therapy Essentials Formula. We have sold thousands of jars to customers all over the world (every continent except Antarctica). There are thousands of studies published in peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals that support the conclusion that the human body needs to ingest particular nutrients, in certain amounts on a daily basis to support and maintain the normal, healthy functioning of its cardiovascular system.
The ideal way to provide these daily nutrients is to eat enough highly nutritious food every day. However, with the advent of industrial factory farming, the use (or overuse) of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, hybridization, genetic engineering, food processing techniques, and the transport of food over long distances – today’s grocery store food just doesn’t have the nutrition it had a hundred years ago. This makes it very difficult to get enough nutrition to support and maintain the normal, healthy functioning of the cardiovascular system by eating a normal amount of food every day. In fact, many of us in the developed nations are both overweight AND undernourished. Indeed, we may be overweight BECAUSE we are undernourished!
One way to provide the body with the nutrients it needs to support and maintain the normal, healthy functioning of its cardiovascular system is to take nutritional supplements.
