Green Tea May Lower Risk for Heart Disease

Posted 11 years ago

Tea lovers out there should rejoice. Studies have shown that individuals who drank green tea, precisely more than five cups a day, have lowered their chances of heart disease and death by a significant amount. The results even suggest that this soothing tea may lower LDL or bad cholesteol and tricglyceride levels which are associated with heart disease and stroke.

“The limited data available on green tea support a potential association between green tea and beneficial properties in relationship to risk factors for cardiovascular disease,” says Kathy McManus, director of the department of nutrition at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

If you aren’t exactly a fan of tea, it may be time to start brewing yourself a few bags.
