Fish Oil Not Beneficial for the Heart

hought of as a heart savior by health buffs and scientists alike, fish oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, has always been a favorite of those aiming for better heart health. However, a new study has proven that it does not provide these benefits as previously believed. This is evidenced by an analysis of data collected from 12,500 men and women from the Risk and Prevention Study in Italy.
“After an average follow-up of five years, patients taking the omega-3 supplements did not reduce their risk of death or hospitalization from heart disease, compared with those who took placebo,”  Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine reported.
