Breathing nasty particles from air pollution can increase your risk of developing cardiovascular disease.
According to a new study published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, too much exposure to high levels of traffic-related pollution could change the structure and function of the right ventricle of the heart.
Study author Peter Leary, MD found that people who had high exposure to markers of traffic-related air pollution had right ventricles that were under great stress.
