We all know that the heart is an integral part of the body. Diseases can badly affect the heart and can cause death or make you physically and mentally ill.
To avoid confusion, you must understand that the term ‘heart disease’ means disorders affecting the heart. Any disorder affecting the heart and the blood vessels is called ‘cardiovascular disease’. Some common diseases are:
- Angina pectoris is the reason why the muscles get less oxygen daily.
- Arrhythmia causes irregular beat rates.
- Congenital heart disease is a birth defect that causes obstruction and septal defects.
- Coronary artery disease causes plaques containing cholesterol that damages the blood vessels and narrows them. This also causes ischemia or oxygen deficiency.
- Myocardial infraction results from interrupted blood flow and lack of oxygen, resulting in damaged muscles.
- Dilated cardiomyopathy causes dilation of the chambers because of weak muscles, making it ineffective to pump blood properly.
