The hospitalization of a heart disease patient can have a positive impact on his family. Based on a study conducted on the family members of patients who have been hospitalized because of heart disease, there was a definite improvement in their heart health condition. They become more physically active and they eat healthier.
These positive results were shown after they have undergone counseling.
According to an article from cbc.ca, “The program succeeded in getting participants moving and eating more produce compared with family members in the control group who just received printed materials about quitting smoking, healthy eating, weight management and physical activity.”
