According to a recent study conducted in Japan, eating a high-salt diet may double the heart disease risk among people with diabetes. The study had 1,600 participants who all took time to answer questions about their diets including sodium intake.
The finding of the study proved that consuming less salt can actually help prevent serious health complications such as diabetes. The main sources of salt in an individual’s diet include sodium in dairy products, meat, vegetables and processed foods.
