A new study conducted by researchers based in Israel on the relation of sleep disorders to heart health has revealed surprising results.
Although it is understandable that people who suffer from breathing disorders such as sleep apnea, are usually at higher risk for cardiovascular disease, this recent study shows that patients who have had heart attacks actually benefit from mild to moderate sleep-disordered breathing.
As it turns out, apnea and other sleep related disorders, specifically those that trigger breathing abnormalities, boost the number of rare cells known to have a repairing effect on blood vessels.
